Borispil airport of Kyiv
State Enterprise Boryspil International Airport is located at 29 kilometers distance South East of Kyiv and 6 kilometers distance South West of Boryspil. It occupies territory of 943 hectares. There are two runways and nearly 200 industrial, administrative and subsidiary buildings and constructions on the airport territory.
A decision to create Borispil airport of Kyiv civil aviation fleet (central fleet) on the basis of military aerodrome has been made 49 years ago in May 1959.
Airport Boryspil has changed from little military aerodrome into modern international airport with multi-thousand collective of specialists with high qualification, into airport that coped with modern aviation machinery, European service technologies, implemented the newest equipment, technical means and systems. High quality of services is approved by the certificate of compliance to standard ISO 9001:2000.
Boryspil airport has also implemented System of Ecological Management in accordance with ISO 14001:1996. ?Boryspil? airport has been the main air gate to Ukraine. It has been transformed into one of the most modern European airports by hard labor of its employees.
Creating this powerful air transport junction its employees have really performed a heroic deed having built in a short term a complicated complex of engineering and technical building while learning how to use new equipment and increasing the volume of air carriages.
Boryspil airport has 39 foreign airlines and 9 Ukrainian airlines performing regular passenger flights on 86 routes, including 12 Ukrainian and 74 international ones. Modern equipment for passenger and luggage services and assurance of aviation security completely meet the requirements of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The next step in airport modernization is construction of new airport complex.
