 Association of Ukrainian BanksThe Association of Ukrainian Banks (AUB), founded on a goodwill basis, is an association of professional commercial banks and other financial and credit institutions in Ukraine. It was established in December 1989 at the meeting of representatives of 11 commercial banks as the Association of Commercial and Corporate Banks. AUB actively participated in preparation and approval of the instructions of the National Bank of Ukraine On Regulating and Controlling Commercial Banks Activities, On Procedures of Licensing Commercial Banks Activities, provisions On Creating Reserves to Cover Losses from Credit Operations, On Formation of Required Reserves by Banking System etc. Considerable amount of work was done in connection with transferring the Ukrainian banking system on international accounting standards what enabled the national banking system to advance substantially towards integration in international banking, expanding direct contacts of Ukrainian banks with those worldwide. One of AUB achievements is establishing business cooperation with the National Bank of Ukraine. Notwithstanding some discrepancies in opinions as to commercial banks activities, functioning of minor banks and their capitalization, as to some items in monetary policy and formation of required reserves, on the whole, AUB enjoys a common approach the National Bank of Ukraine as to activities of the banking system.
