INSTITUTE OF HISTORY OF UKRAINE

The Institute of History of Ukraine, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is a research institution which deals with a wide range of issues related to the national history. It was established in 1936 (in 1953 1990 the Institute of History, the National Academy of Ukrainian SSR; 1991 1994 the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, since 1994 the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).

The key areas of the Institute's activities include:

- History of Ukraine (from Kiev Rus up to date);

- Ukraine in the context of European and global history;

- Regional history of Ukraine and historical local studies;

- National historiographical research and publication of historical sources;

- Special historical subjects; electronic information resources;

- Encyclopedia of History of Ukraine? in 10 volumes etc.
