In November, 1896 Municipal Duma and the Board of Kiev District made decision on construction of public steamship workshops and covered slipway, which were transformed into KSSRY. During many years a factory built river ships and barges and was a basic ship-repair base for the courts of all of types on Dneper. In times of labour activity of factory it was build: 147 corps of courts more than 450 courts was repaired more than 100 corps are reconditioned The reconstruction of factory is executed on the project of the known German firm Ingeniertechnik und Maschinenbau GMBH.
