Lesya Ukrainka public libraryLesya Ukrainka public library is the central library book stack , scientific methodical center for city public libraries, base library of Central Administration Board of culture and arts of Kyiv city state administration on questions of library raising Since 1992 the library intensively implements new computer technologies, which enable to provide free access to the world information resources for users. Along with Central Administration Board of culture and arts the library actively works at the implementation of "The Program of automation of informational - library system of the Kyiv Public Libraries". In the library collections one can find publications on Ukrainian, Russian and foreign languages, rare, note and musical and graphic editions, and also on the electronic data carriers. Library subscribes 550 names of newspapers and periodicals yearly. In the collection of the Department of local lore studies, literature and bibliographies are stored the publications about Kyiv of the end XIX - the beginning XX of centuries, the complete sets of newspapers "Kyiv thought" ("Kyivskaya mysl") (1908-1909), "Kyiv rumour" ("Kyivskaya molva") (1907), "Kyiv newspaper" ("Kyivskaya gazeta") (1903), the journal ("Kyivskaya starina") "Kyiv old times" (1888 - 1898) and others. It is sufficiently fully represented foreign Ukrainistika, transferred to library by Ukrainian Diaspora. Personal collections of Serge Lyfar, Victor Kytastiy have a unique value. Library patrons can use the full-text databases "Zakon" ("Law"), "Stolitsa" ("Capital") and information resources of the Internet Center. In the hall of the art literature department the exhibitions of paintings from different personal collections are demonstrated.
